“One of the best curriculums that could have been given to us..”- Says Subroto Angdi of Batch 2014
Subroto is currently pursuing a LLM programme in Business and Corporate Laws in University of Adelaide
As an aspiring student of law, I was looking at all options while applying for colleges. It was during this time that a friend of mine recommended Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad to me. For me, I had heard about the Symbiosis Institutes in Pune and the fact that they were one of the best private universities in the country. However, the Hyderabad school was newly opened and if I chose to apply there and got selected I would be the first batch. There were a lot of thoughts in my mind at that mind, but keeping in mind the quality education and work opportunities that Symbiosis is known to give to students and I applied and eventually got selected.
SLSH as an institute is multicultural. Like all Symbiosis campuses around the country, there were people from all parts of the country and in the words of our esteemed Founder, it was ‘Mini India’. Taking that into account and the changing dimensions of the legal field, the academic curriculum was designed and now, after five years I can say that that was one of the best curriculums that could have been given to us. It included all aspects of the legal field and gave us a base into all the major areas of law and an in-depth introduction into the different areas of specialization like Insurance Law, Banking Law and International Law among others. All the theoretical classes were supplemented either with presentations or practical examples to give a better understanding of the subject. As a student I believe that is the best way which will yield results and an interest to study further. Another excellent factor which is an added plus point for a student was the teachers. They encouraged me every step of the way whether it was regarding a class assignment or a research topic of my interest.
Staying in a residential campus for almost half the year it is absolutely necessary that one has other co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to engage in. The importance of mooting and the joys with it was inculcated within me from the very beginning and since then it became a major part of my college life. Participating in external moot court competitions, became an integral part of my five years. In a residential campus hostels are of course a major part of one’s experience. And, similarly for me it played a major role in shaping the person that I am. Talking about the facilities, I can say for sure that the standard of hostels is far better than most institutions across the nations. Everyday cleaning, laundry services made living away from home much less difficult. Over all it was an amazing experience that I will cherish for a lifetime.
Experience at Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad was amazing. It groomed me to be a better person, professionally as well as personally. It guided me to face the world and win it. SLSH opened doors for me, which I never knew even existed. College helped me grow in such a way that today, I am a more confident and responsible person. I am humbled by what I learnt in all the five years I spent in college and take back each and every memory and all the lessons learnt. SLSH gives you the platform to grow, to reform and identify yourself and talents. It showcases your abilities and credits your achievements and is the best place for a budding lawyer.
